On stage, Zoey dazzles as the lead rapper and lyricist of the K-pop girl group HUNTR/X, and off stage, she fights demons with razor-sharp throwing knives called shin-kal. Despite her bubbly exterior, she harbors feelings of not quite belonging and is afraid that she is both too much to handle and not enough to support her friends.
Her cheerful, almost goofy energy masks a fierce protector. Through her journey, Zoey becomes the emotional anchor of HUNTR/X, showing that self-acceptance and creative power go hand in hand.
The Inspiration
I may have watched KPop Demon Hunters one too many times. The songs are catchy and the story is light and cute. Zoey is an easy match for me, as she is A LOT like Styx with her goofiness and insatiable desire to please.
COsTUME cosplay
First Appearance
I sourced Zoey’s Demon Hunter costume from EZ Cosplay. The outfit was on sale, and I’ve been wanting to do a Zoey cosplay for a while now! Unfortunately, I currently do not have the time to re-create such a complicated cosplay.
So, even though this costume isn’t 100% canon, when paired with my bangs accessory and Styx’s rainbow kunai it worked pretty well for my videos.
