The Headband

Kakeshi Hatake | Elle Magic

So … Kakashi Hatake was an unintentional cosplay. I admit that I did think about it when I was styling Final Fantasy’s Paine‘s wig because the hair is similar-ish, but the thought fizzled out until I did a parody TikTok where Paine dressed up as Rikku for Halloween. Then, I thought, “Oh, I should get Paine to dress up as other things for Halloween!” And so, ta da – Kakashi 😆

So, easiest next step was to print the headband piece! I grabbed the file from Thingiverse. I rescaled the model to about 10 cm in width because my head is small and set the 3D printer settings to:

  • 0.1 mm resolution
  • Support Structure: Touch Bed, 7% Infill density
  • Top/Bottom layer: 1.2 mm
  • 20% Infill density
  • 70% flow rate
  • 140% feed rate
  • 223ºF extruder temperature
  • 55ºF heated bed temperature

I think for next time, I would slow down to 100% feed rate for the last few layers … maybe even a bit slower. I would also increase to infill density to 80% or higher. The top layer is pretty blotchy and the piece itself is a bit too flexible. I quickly painted the emblem with black acrylic paint and clean off mistakes with water.

I just temporarily clipped it to my makeshift blue scrap cloth that I used for the Parody Rikku cosplay and TA DA!
