The floral accent on the belt – Part 1

3D Print of Paine's Floral Accent on the Belt

Ok, so I am just going to jump ahead pass introducing this cosplay because I’m so excited to talk about this little piece!

First of all, special thanks to Jenn of Dangerous Ladies on Storenvy for the 3D print files! This one file needs a little more work but since I plan to dip these pieces into resin, this model will do!

So, I started by slicing the object with CuraEngine with the following settings:

  • 1.75 mm silver PLA filament
  • 0.2 mm resolution
  • 40% infill density
  • 100% flow rate
  • 223ºF extruder temperature
  • 55ºF heated bed temperature

The settings resulted in the smushed print on the far left. So, I tweaked it to:

  • 0.1 mm resolution
  • 60% infill density
  • 50% flow rate
  • 223ºF extruder temperature
  • 55ºF heated bed temperature

The middle print reflects the above settings. Not quite right…. let’s try again!

  • 0.15 mm resolution
  • 81% infill density
  • 50% flow rate
  • 218ºF extruder temperature
  • 55ºF heated bed temperature

I think I’ll settle for this one and maybe decrease the temperature some more to stop the webbing, but ta da!

When I have a little more time, I want to remake this 3D print file to be a bit thicker, so the details are a little more apparent.
